Kum Gang San

Saturday night: my treat to KBBQ at Kum Gang San in Flushing - it's 24 hours.

Kimchi's supposed to be the best here, but I wouldn't compare it to what miracles would potentially taste like.

The grill of chicken beef and tongue mmmmm. but with mushrooms, yuck.

A brand of Korean beer, I approve.

What's nephew busy doing? He's being a smug artiste.

I swear most of the bill went towards the waterfall garden scenery. Very pretty though! Great place to eat outside for lunch.

And then I continued on Sunday night with some homemade tuna and eel kimbobs!

No Virgin Here

I was so glad we met up after work at Wogies in the West 4th area and wandered over to Union Square. Virgin on 14th is closing down by June 14th - everything at least 20% off or more right now! I needed to use up a gift card from five years back that my old supervisor from Pedone&Partners gave me as a free intern thank you goodbye gift. I don't usually carry around all my cards with me, but I luckily just so happened to have it on me. And funny thing - I was eyeballing this wallet-clutch-thing a month ago when I was walking through the store. I didn't buy it. But as fate has it, I went back today only to find that same clutch was sitting in the same spot where we first met!! So I took it home with me.

It's LIKE hugging a tree. It's also lime on the inside. That's sorta like green.

Now I can look at myself and stare at my significant non other at the same time! And the middle part is magnetic but detachable, like so.

I also found out it even has a fancy name: Loop Parcel III Fallout Girl Clutch. She sounds like a b*tch, but a cool one. I'm renaming her Tonica.

And then I bought some Vitamin water to use up the rest of my 6 bucks. Never a snore read. Did you know Kelly Clarkson's favorite is the Focus one?

HELLO ADHOLE!

Wow I am MIA with the BLOG ... not really, I'm just still really busy KIT-ing-one-on-one and fighting evil by moonlight with Luna. I am missing a handful of posts, I will do some quickies later (teehee) if it's not too overdue ... But today, I attended my first Drinking with Adholes advertising networking event at Popburger sponsored by 360 and Pangea. I missed the first invite because I was a shy shrimp, and the second one because I was a lazy patahtoe. Slaps hand, no excuse. And this third one, I walked over, but I failed to bring enough cards and forgot my camera at home to bring you live action stalker photos. Double backslap to the face, Sam!

But maybe it was for the better. There were a lot of random ass WEIRDOS that attended that came up to me and said hi, ie a barking (literally) unemployed dude who tickled my knees and almost made me spit out my beer to say WTF, ie a mormon with yellow fever who kept asking me about my Asian descent and my family name, and ie a commercial real estater who has NOTHING TO DO WITH ADVERTISING but knew the DJ and brought along some of his ghetto rapper homefries. He smelled like 2 hours of weed, and I hate homefries. But I friggin love slider burgers - Popburger was such an awesome space to roll around and frolick in. I went to the one on 58th next to FAO and Apple, but I would definitely try out the Chelsea one sometime when I'm in the mood for some good sliders!

But please don't let the WEIRDOS scare you, it was actually more entertaining for me than anything to be able to laugh about them and move on. I got to meet the big man behind this event, Marc Lefton and some folks over at Pangea early on before the crowds arrived - they were super friendly, smart, and laid back! And I got to see my old coworker from Draft Digital, that was good times. So as much as things still need to get noodled on for event planning and organization, I still give advocate and give huge props to the whole idea of a monthly networking event is such a genius idea. Catch me at the next one if you can, I'll be sure to hand you out my card next month :)
