The post where I don't like ANYTHING.

It all started when I got this UFO noodle bowl from JAS mart. This was actually really delicious, and the packaging inside was really functional and smart too to drain the noodles and mix in the sauce and seaweed seasoning. I won't spoil it for you, just go grab a few home and eat it!

Japan Fair was 15 blocks or so in length, but only ONE block sold the "real" Japanese food... that is just lame. I don't know how else to emphasize. All other booths on the other 14 streets were like regular street fairs of American stock... like lemonade, CDs, and dresses.

I bought this butterfly ring for $2 and it lasted me 2 hours. Ironic because real butterflies have a 2 week lifespan.

Can't not have the freaks running around. Cute!

This guy's on youtube somewhere. You might even catch him wiggling around in subway stations.

Mochi pounding and the results - red bean, green tea, and peanut buttery delish-ness!

Then went off to Brooklyn to check out a HAE event for a pop up store in Brooklyn. I've actually been to another event hosted at the actual Harriet's Alter Ego store about a year ago which was awesome with street art, music, merchandise, food, and Nuvo drinks. But this particular BK Pop event reminded me more of a ghetto flea market showroom than an actual pop up store event - I was very disappointed and expected so much more from what they were marketing in their promos and invites. I hope the next one is better put together because I actually really like the vibe of Society HAE and what they're about.

wow 50 cents is a steal - I bet you the vending machine's empty though haha.

Nice graf.

I think I am on a "unliking" rampage because this carousel was stupid too! It just moves around and around but you can't ride it. It's only available in 2010 for riding... wtf? What's the point of plugging it in and wasting electricity if you can only watch it and not touch it???

So on to the Brooklyn Flea right under the bridge. They sold a lot of old things for 30 bucks+. So defeated the idea of a flea market, because everything is supposed to be CHEAP. I could've gotten some of these things at Urban Outfitters for the same price at brand new! And it might've even been on sale for fuck's sake.

Whatever! On our next stop, we ventured into Manhattan from Brooklyn in order to get back into a different part of Brooklyn. Enough said.

33 minutes of squishing against sweaty armpits and inhaling each other's exhales, we finally got let into the gates to the Pool Party where Girl Talk was playing. Once the rain started sprinkling and we started dancing around, it was all worth it. He was not bad at all.

All on a Sunday.

a Lot like Love

Writings from August 2009:

You’ll never notice it at first, because it happens to you when you least expect it. It seems to happen a lot in the summertime after a rain shower. And then you will realize it after a while of walking about. At first it’s small. It’s just a little node that starts to swell and disperse. At first, you will touch it and scratch it. Maybe even use your saliva to get the aggravation to go away. Or force yourself not to touch it by putting lotion on it. Or sitting on your hands. Even when you go to bed, you will be tossing and turning in your bedsheets till the break of dawn. You just couldn’t stop thinking about it, knowing it’s there and you have no control over it. And when you wake up the next morning, it might not be as visibly arrogant as it was the day before, but lord and behold, it just comes back up out of nowhere to haunt you, triggered by god knows what material and reminder. And you try to forget about it, but you know you will eventually scratch it. And you will refuse to not pay it any attention whatsoever, that’s what you keep telling yourself. Mocking you, teasing you, playing on your temptation and desires. You will even start hitting it and smacking it, looking for ways of distraction to numb the itch away. Even for a moment of ice until it melts away. And then, you will examine it. And then you will slowly but surely scratch it. You scratch it. Lightly at first, nothing too crazy. And then this frenzy will come over you as you go harder. Violently now. The surface starts to redden and blush with delight. The epidermis now starting to peel lightly. Scratch marks start to show up. And then it rips apart at the base, and blood starts to show. Now is about the time you will start to feel pain. It will feel tingly at first when you’ve decided to give it up and stop scratching. Afterall, it has been three minutes of nonstop back and forth rough action on it. You will start to feel it’s burning and stinging. And learn again what it feels like to regret. Especially when you walk over to the sink to wipe it down with soap and water. It will still leave its mark and stay. And then all you can choose to do is to wait… to rinse it… and repeat.

S2

Studio Square is an amazing beer garden in Astoria with lots of space and air!

Definitely a wow factor when you step outside in the back.

Here the line goes for grease n grub and... sushi? lol props to one time use chopsticks. Food was $10+ a plate... not really worth it much, but then it's SO necessary when you have a few pitchers of Blue Moon goin on and no fingerfoods&fries to wash it down with!

I liked this set of limited edition Pink Ribbon playing cards. I can get lost just examining the intricate details and patterns up close. Like this pink King of Hearts card we placed in a regular deck of blue Bicycle cards below.

Ten points if you can guess what game we're playing.

Cartoon Network Gallery

Tucked inside the Shops at Columbus Circle lives the small but neat Cartoon Network Gallery, which is right next to the Samsung experience store:

Cheese don't like his hair being touched.

I love Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - here you can see some preliminary sketches of characters in action!

And here is what my potential imaginary friend would look like if I still had one:

Create your own here, super cute and fun!
