White Castle Lovin

Guess who's going to White Castle for Vday?!

"Wow your special someone with tableside service, flowers and candlelight, in a place made famous for late night cravings. We’ll even upload a photo of your romantic rendezvous to our website."

For one night only, participating White Castles across the States turn into a "romantic" dine in spot complete with table service and the works when you make reservations over phone! I've been hearing about this ridiculous promo for the past few years, but never thought to actually go check out what it is. My date and I actually theme-prepped ourselves by rewatching Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle at home first. Not knowing what to expect, we ended up having a great cheap date with all the corny decorations and cheesy melty slider burgers and fries we can stuff into our mouths!

This was the basic setup at the White Castle that I went to, complete with balloons and window cling heart decor. The waitresses snapped pics of the couples who called for a seating - photos will be uploaded to the actual website soon!

Everything was in super 99 cent store style - from the thin red plastic tableclothes to the swan with the cheap chocolate and even plastic rose bouquets! Even the reservation sign was printed poorly on a scratchy inkjet home printer, sooo ghetto hahah.

"Celebrate your love... of the crave."

The menu had all the regular items on hand, just printed in script type with some clip art and a big logo slapped on. I'm assuming prices and offerings vary from state to state? Our waitress was super friendly and nice... don't forget to tip!

And on the back, we got a thank you come again offer.

Totally wrecked these sliders and fries! Our toilets are probably next :P

Since we had one of the last seatings, we took a helium heart balloon home when we left. My cat had so much fun with the string.

They turned into a Love Castle last year but didn't continue it this year, I wonder why? I'm surprised White Castle didn't put in more money to really blow out this program. Let's face it, most men would get slapped in the face if they took their other halves to a fast food joint for dinner on Vday, so this promo probably brought more people in and out the doors than usual, not to mention the publicity and social press. And the packaging and branding colors could've turned red just for that day just to give it more RED RED RED power. And they never took down email addresses when we called to reserve nor did they have any online ways to reserve seats and follow up on experience, or just to send out a thanks for coming email, here is your photo ready for download links. But that's just my over-analyzing mind as an art director :P nothing beats a 20 dollar meal for two on Vday!
